Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By using Breakout: Rewire Your Mind (“the App”), you agree to these Terms. The App is operated by Door 24 Technologies LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Breakout. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. What Breakout Is

Breakout is a personal development platform that provides:

• Identity Installs — spoken affirmation rituals where you speak identity statements aloud while real-time on-device speech recognition highlights matching words on screen (no audio is recorded or stored)
• Affirmation Library — 500+ pre-written affirmations across 10 focus areas, plus the ability to author and save your own custom rewrites
• State Tool Library — on-demand audio tracks (binaural beats, frequency audio, ambient soundscapes) for focus, sleep, relaxation, and clarity
• Progress tracking — streaks, install counts, and daily completion status

What Breakout is NOT

Breakout is not a medical, therapeutic, or clinical service. Nothing in the App constitutes medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The audio library includes binaural beats and frequency-based tracks. These are for self-improvement and personal use only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or psychological condition. If you have a history of seizures, epilepsy, or other neurological conditions, consult a physician before using binaural audio.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact a licensed healthcare professional or call emergency services immediately.

4. Your Account

To use Breakout, you create an account via email/password, Apple Sign-In, or continue anonymously (limited functionality). You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when registering
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

5. Acceptable Use

Use Breakout for its intended purpose — personal development. You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Attempt to access other users’ data or circumvent security controls
• Use the App to distribute malware, spam, or unauthorized commercial content
• Interfere with the App’s infrastructure or performance
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others

Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. Your Data and Content

You own your data.

Your profile information, saved tracks, installed rewrites, and all personal data belong to you. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and process your data solely to operate the Service. This license ends when you delete your account.

7. Device Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions. Each is optional and used only for its stated purpose:

• Microphone — On-device speech recognition during install rituals. The app listens as you speak affirmations and highlights matching words in real time. Only active during the install ritual screen; released when you navigate away.
• Camera — Live mirror (front-facing camera preview) so you can see yourself during the ritual. Only active during the install ritual screen; no photos or video captured.
• Notifications — Daily reminders and motivational quotes. Only with your explicit permission.
• Background audio — Keeps audio playing when you lock your device or switch apps. Active during audio playback.
• Photo library — Save affirmation share cards as images to your camera roll. Only when you explicitly choose to save or share an affirmation card.

No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. Speech recognition is processed entirely on-device by Apple’s built-in speech engine.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Breakout offers a free tier and a premium subscription (“Breakout+”) with additional content and features.

• Pricing: Breakout+ is available as a monthly or annual subscription. Current pricing is displayed on the paywall screen and in the App Store.
• Billing: All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information.
• Renewals: Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime through your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as they handle all payment processing.
• Price changes: We may modify pricing with 30 days’ notice. Apple will notify you and require opt-in for price increases.
• Account deletion: Deleting your Breakout account does not cancel your App Store subscription. Cancel your subscription first.

9. Gamification

Breakout includes streaks, install counts, and progress metrics. These are motivational tools only. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed outside the App.

10. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings within the App.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. All your data — profile, saved tracks, favorites, playlists, installed rewrites, activity history — is permanently deleted the moment you confirm. There is no grace period, no recovery, and no undo.

Before deleting, you should:

1. Cancel your App Store subscription (if applicable)
2. Request a data export if you want one (email support@breakoutmind.com)

11. We May Terminate Your Account

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal conduct, or abuse the Service. If we terminate your account, we’ll delete your data in the same way as a self-initiated deletion.

12. Intellectual Property

All content, design, trademarks, audio tracks, affirmation text, and technology within Breakout are owned by or licensed to Door 24 Technologies LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written permission. This includes audio tracks, which are licensed for personal use within the App only.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Door 24 Technologies LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Breakout is a self-improvement tool, not a substitute for professional care. We are not responsible for any decisions you make or actions you take based on the content in the App.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Door 24 Technologies LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when something material changes. When we do:

• The “Last Updated” date at the top will change.
• For material changes, we’ll notify you via email or in-app notice.
• Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.
